General description
Ligand-dependent corepressor (UniProt: Q96JN0; also known as LCoR, Mblk1-related protein 2) is encoded by the LCOR (also known as C10orf12, KIAA1795, MLR2) gene (Gene ID: 84458) in human. LCoR is a ubiquitously distributed protein in fetal and adult tissues and serves as a transcriptional co-repressor that is recruited to agonist-bound nuclear receptors through a single LxxLL motif at the N-terminal region. It may also act as a transcription activator that binds DNA elements with the sequence 5′-CCCTATCGATCGATCTCTACCT-3′. Three isoforms of LCoR have been described that are produced by alternative splicing. This polyclonal antibody is raised against a large isoform (isoform 3; a splice variant), which associates with the PRC2 complex through its C-terminal region. Its nuclear localization signal is reported to be in amino acids 339-345 and it reacts with nuclear receptors via amino acids 53-57. (Ref.: Conway, E., et al. (2018). Mol. Cell 70(3); 408-421).
